About us
Headquarters Multinational Division South East– is a North Atlantic Council (NAC) activated NATO military body under operational command (OPCOM) of Supreme Allied Commander Europe.
In accordance with NAC decision, the HQ MND-SE enjoys NATO International Military HQ status pursuant to the Paris Protocol and any Supplementary Agreements between NATO nations and Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE).
The Mission
HQ MND–SE, under HQ MNC-SE operational control (OPCON), is prepared to command and control an Article 5 operation as divisional headquarters in the South-East region, based on NATO advance planning, as authorized by the NAC and directed by SACEUR, in order to contribute to the security of the Alliance territory and populations.
MILESTONES
HQ MND-SE has among its personnel officers, warrant officers (WOs) and non-commisioned officers (NCOs) from 14 troop contributing nations: Albania, Bulgaria, Canada, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Turkiye, United Kingdom and United States. The role of Framework Nation for the HQ MND-SE is assumed by Romania.

The inception of HQ MND-SE by the Order of the Romanian Ministry of Defense.
December, 2015
HQ MND-SE held Initial Capability Declaration Ceremony.
March, 2018
HQ MND-SE hosted the 15th edition of the LANDCOM CORPS COMMANDERS conference (LC3) and the EXERCISE NAPLES BLUEPRINT.
2020
NATO VJTF deployment in Romania following the Russia’s brutal and unprovoked war of aggression against Ukraine.
December, 2022
During the NATO WALES SUMMIT, a NATO Readiness Action Plan (RAP) was decided. To facilitate readiness and rapid deployment of forces, the RAP led to the creation of the HQ MND-SE.
September 1, 2015
The activation ceremony of the headquarters was celebrated in Bucharest, representing the official integration of HQ MND-SE into the NATO Force Structure based on the implementation of the Readiness Action Plan from Wales Summit, 2014.
July, 2016
HQ MND-SE achieved Full Operational Capabilities during a ceremony held in Joint National Training Center in Cincu.

The new coronavirus (COVID 19) is the biggest challenge for the HQ MND-SE in this period, but the military of the structure continues its training and missions with the same dedication and professionalism.
