Chair of the NATO Military Committee visits HQ MND-SE

Bucharest, Romania — Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, Chair of the NATO Military Committee, visited Headquarters Multinational Division South-East in Bucharest on 7 May 2026, during his official visit to Romania.
Admiral Cavo Dragone met with the HQ MND-SE Command Group and staff and received briefings on the Division’s mission and current operational priorities. Discussions also covered the integration of subordinate and affiliated formations within HQ MND-SE’s command-and-control architecture and the Division’s contribution to NATO’s deterrence and defence posture on the south-eastern flank.
The visit highlighted the importance of multinational cohesion, readiness and effective command and control for NATO’s collective defence, as well as the contribution made by Allied personnel serving together at HQ MND-SE.
At the conclusion of the visit, Admiral Cavo Dragone thanked Headquarters personnel for their service and commitment:
“Thank you for your commitment in defending our Eastern flank so bravely.”
HQ MND-SE continues to strengthen readiness, interoperability and multinational command and control in support of NATO’s deterrence and defence posture and the protection of Allied territory.
