DACIAN SPRING 2023
Headquarters Multinational Division South-East led DACIAN SPRING 2023, a multinational exercise with the aim to integrate all NATO forces deployed in Romania and Bulgaria, as part of Allied deterrence operations.
500 Romanian, American, French and Italian soldiers from HQ MND-SE, HQ MN BDE-SE, FRA Rapid Reaction Brigade, 1 (US) BCT, Romanian Battle Group with France as Framework Nation – ROU BG (FRA FN), Bulgarian Battle Group with Italy as Framework Nation – BGR BG (ITA FN) participated in “DASP23”, in Medgidia and Smardan.
“The exercise was a great opportunity to test our level of interoperability. It was the first time when a French Brigade HQ was deployed from France to Romania. We were able to train with both NATO Battle Groups from our area of responsibility, one led by France, the other by Italy”, said HQ MND-SE Commander, Major General Dorin Toma.
The Chief of the Defense Staff, General Daniel Petrescu, appreciated that DACIAN SPRING 2023 confirmed the high reaction capacity of the structures in the fictitious scenario of the exercise.
