Staff Senior Warrant Officer Michal BANASIK began his military career in 1997 at the Warrant Officers School of the Land Forces in Poznań, specialising in tank-unit command. Following his graduation in 1999, he was appointed as a tank platoon commander in the 6th Armoured Cavalry Brigade in Stargard.

Throughout his career, he has served in command, training, operations, engineering, EOD and signal appointments. His positions have included Tank Crew Commander, Instructor, Company First Sergeant, EOD Team Leader, MNC NE NCO S-2/S-3 Specialist, Sergeant Major of the 100th Signal Battalion and Command Senior Enlisted Leader of the MNC NE Command Support Brigade.

He deployed twice to Iraq in 2008 and to Afghanistan in 2016. He also served with the NATO Response Force in 2012 and 2014.

SSWO Banasik is a member of the National Defence League and the Peacekeeping Mission Veterans Association, as well as an honorary blood donor. He has also completed the first stage of a shooting instructor course.

He assumed his duties as Command Senior Enlisted Leader of HQ MND-SE in September 2024.
