SHAPE Vice Chief of Staff visits HQ MND-SE

Bucharest, Romania — Lieutenant General Ludovic Pinon de Quincy, Vice Chief of Staff, Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), visited Headquarters Multinational Division South-East in Bucharest on 1 April 2026.
Lieutenant General Pinon de Quincy was welcomed by Lieutenant General Cristian-Daniel Dan, Commander of Multinational Corps South-East, and Major General Cornel Tonea-Bălan, Commander of Multinational Division South-East.
During the visit, the SHAPE Vice Chief of Staff met with members of the HQ MND-SE Command Group and staff and received briefings on the Headquarters’ mission, roles and responsibilities, its command-and-control architecture and communications systems, training activities and relationships with other NATO and national military structures.
The discussions provided an overview of HQ MND-SE’s role within the NATO Force Structure and its place in the Alliance’s wider command-and-control architecture, as well as its contribution to integrating multinational formations on the south-eastern flank.
The visit also offered an opportunity to exchange views on current training priorities, interoperability and continued cooperation among SHAPE, HQ MNC-SE and HQ MND-SE.
HQ MND-SE continues to strengthen readiness, interoperability and multinational command and control in support of NATO’s deterrence and defence posture and the protection of Allied territory.
